Why Humility Matters

In this powerful message, guest speaker Paul Johnson brings us back to the foundation of Christian living: humility. We have been studying the truth that “Everything you need is in the seed,” but Paul asks the piercing question: What if the soil of your heart is bad? Pride can harden the soil of our hearts and choke out the fruit that God desires. Humility, on the other hand, makes our hearts soft and open, ready for the Word of God to take root.

The Deceptive Nature of Pride

Paul reminds us that much of the opposition we face in the church isn’t from demons or principalities—it’s from pride. Pride blinds us to our own weaknesses while magnifying the flaws of others. Pride convinces us that life is about “me,” when in reality, apart from God there is no good thing in us. Humility breaks this cycle by cutting us low, teaching us dependence on Christ, and restoring our unity as the body of Christ.

The Attitude of Christ

Drawing from Philippians 2;1–13, Paul shows us that Jesus Himself modeled humility. Though He existed in the form of God, He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross. This is the true attitude of humility—laying down privilege, rejecting pride, and serving others in love.

Walking in Humility Today

Humility is not weakness, self-pity, or insecurity. It is strength under surrender. When we humble ourselves before the Lord, He lifts us up (James 4;10). The call to humility is not optional for believers—it is essential. As Paul Johnson emphasizes, humility prepares the soil of our hearts so God’s Word can grow and bear lasting fruit.

If you are ready to uproot pride and embrace the power of humility, this message will both challenge and encourage you. Let God shape your heart today into good soil, where His truth can flourish and bring glory to the name of Jesus.

The Power of the Seed

In this message, Pastor Chad Everett continues the Soil and Seed – Keys to the Kingdom series by asking a vital question: Which seed are you growing? This question matters because the Bible teaches that every life produces fruit from the seed planted within it. God designed every seed with two defining traits. The seed is in itself, and it always produces after its kind (Genesis 1:11–12). Every acorn carries the potential of a mighty oak. In the same way, every spiritual harvest begins with the seed of the Word of God. What you choose to plant and nurture determines the fruit you will see.

Created in God’s Image

Genesis 1:26–27 shows that God created mankind in His image and likeness. He equipped us with everything needed to reflect Him. However, Genesis 3 introduces another seed. The serpent deceived Adam and Eve, convincing them to trust their feelings instead of God’s Word. That same temptation still works today. The enemy whispers lies, but God calls us to live by His truth and grow the right seed.

Which Seed Are You Growing?

Scripture reveals only two options. One is the seed of Satan, rooted in deception and human senses. The other is the seed of the woman, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, rooted in faith and truth. Genesis 3:15 gives the first promise of the Gospel. Jesus, the promised Seed, came to crush the serpent’s head and restore us to God. Therefore, each of us must decide: Which seed are you growing every day? Neutral ground does not exist.

Living in Christ’s Victory

This message calls you to examine your life. Are you cultivating the seed of Christ, or allowing the enemy’s seed to grow instead? Romans 16:20 promises that “the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” 1 John 3:8 declares that the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil. When you live by faith in God’s Word instead of feelings, you resist the enemy’s lies. As a result, you grow in the image of Christ and walk in lasting victory.

Listen now and discover the answer to the question: Which seed are you growing?

“You can’t have revival without love.”

With those powerful words, guest speaker and longtime friend of The Roads Church, Lee Grady, set the tone for his message Bonds of Steel. Drawing from the life of the Apostle Paul, Lee reminds us that God’s Kingdom advances not only through miracles, healings, and signs but also through strong, Spirit-formed relationships.

In Acts 16, Paul meets Timothy, a young believer who becomes his companion in ministry. Later, Luke joins the team, and the language in Acts shifts from “they” to “we,” signaling the power of fellowship. These bonds of steel—relationships forged in Christ—became the foundation for spreading the gospel. Paul’s mentorship of Timothy, his friendship with Barnabas, and his partnership with Luke illustrate that no one fulfills their calling alone.

Lee challenges us to embrace the same model today. Every believer needs a Paul (mentor), a Barnabas (friend), and a Timothy (disciple). Yet many Christians shy away from relationships because of hurt, offense, or past wounds. Through Scripture, including Acts 2:42 and 2 Timothy 3:1–5, we are reminded that God heals our brokenness so that we can walk in love, forgiveness, and unity.

This message calls us to more than Sunday attendance. It’s an invitation to open our homes, share meals, pray together, and intentionally invest in others. Real revival is sustained when God’s people love one another with bonds that cannot be broken.

If you’ve struggled with loneliness, disconnection, or church hurt, Bonds of Steel will encourage you to let God heal your heart and draw you into deeper fellowship with His family. Revival isn’t just power—it’s love lived out in community.

The Only One Worthy is a powerful message from Blake Bradley at The Roads Church, drawing us into the awe-filled scene of Revelation 5. In this passage, the apostle John describes the throne room of heaven—filled with living creatures, elders, and the fire of God’s presence—where a mighty angel proclaims, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” The answer is both humbling and hope-filled: no one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth is worthy, except the Lamb who was slain.

Blake reminds us that the worthiness of Jesus is not only seen in His position in heaven, but also in His humility and sacrifice on earth. From John 19, we see Jesus beaten, crowned with thorns, and presented by Pilate with the words, “Behold the man,” unknowingly declaring the spotless Lamb of God. This Lamb alone is able to open the scroll and bring God’s redemptive plan to completion.

The message explores how covenant friendship with God is built through holy reverence and obedience. Psalm 25:14 promises that “the friendship of the Lord is for those who fear Him,” and John 15 records Jesus calling us friends if we keep His commands. Obedience positions us to hear God’s secret counsel.

Through the story of Abraham’s obedience in Genesis 22, we see that full surrender opens the way for God to reveal more of Himself—just as He revealed His name, Jehovah Jireh, to Abraham. The call to “walk worthy” from Ephesians 4 and to “be holy” from 1 Peter 1 challenges every believer to live in a way that reflects the Worthy One within us.

This message will stir your worship, deepen your surrender, and challenge you to live daily in light of the worthiness of Jesus. Download the accompanying 5-Day Study Guide to continue studying The Only One Worthy and apply it to your life, family, or group.
