From the Sermon Series: Faith

“Sometimes I look at these children and think, What if I hadn’t said yes? What if fear or excuses had kept me from stepping out of the boat? Who would have been there for them?”
Lana Vasquez, Impact International

“What’s on the other side of your yes to God?”

In this message, Lana Vasquez of Life Impact International shares how saying yes to God transforms lives. Her story is a testimony of how one simple yes can change generations. Lana has spent more than 24 years rescuing children and building homes of hope in Thailand, Burma, and Brazil.

She challenges us to step out of our comfort zones, even when fear or doubt tries to stop us. Like Peter stepping out of the boat in Matthew 14:22-33, we are called to trust Jesus and take bold steps of faith. Lana reminds us that Jesus’ word, “Come,” is always stronger than any storm or wave we face.

Throughout her message, Lana shares emotional stories of children who were rescued from trafficking and abuse. Each child’s life is a living example of what happens when someone dares to say yes. She explains that obedience to God is never just about us. Our yes impacts faces, names, and stories we may never see on this side of eternity.

Lana’s journey is filled with miracles and moments where God showed His faithfulness. She encourages us to see our faith as active, not passive. Saying yes to God might mean stepping into places we don’t fully understand. It might mean trusting Him with outcomes we can’t control. But every yes creates ripples of hope.
