The Fight That Formed You
There are battles that nearly broke you… but they also became the battles that shaped you. In The Fight That Formed You, guest speaker Pastor Frankie Mazzapica brings a powerful, hope-filled message about how God uses the hardest seasons of your life to develop strength, identity, and spiritual confidence. Many of us can look back and identify moments that felt like the end, yet God used those very moments to form who we are today. This message helps you see your battles through a new lens—one that reveals God’s purpose, presence, and shaping work in every fight.
When the Battle Targets Your Voice — Fighting the Lion
Frankie begins with the first battle David faced: the lion. Lions go straight for the throat. Spiritually, this represents the fight where the enemy tries to steal your voice—your prayer life, your worship, and even your ability to say the name of Jesus.
If you’ve ever walked through a season where you wanted to pray but couldn’t… where it felt like your voice was sealed shut… you’re fighting the lion. This part of the message highlights how the fight that formed you often begins with reclaiming your voice, even if all you can whisper is, “Jesus, I love You.” God hears it, and breakthrough begins there.
When the Battle Presses You Down — Fighting the Bear
The second battle David faced was the bear. Bears don’t attack the throat—they use weight to crush. Many people fight battles that feel exactly like that:
- the weight of anxiety,
- the weight of guilt,
- the weight of family trouble,
- the weight of financial pressure,
- the weight of discouragement.
Frankie explains that when life leans on you relentlessly, you may be fighting the bear. But even in that heavy season, the fight that formed you is teaching endurance, spiritual muscle, and the power of relying on God’s strength when your own feels gone.
When the Battle Attacks Your Identity — Facing Goliath
Goliath isn’t after your voice or your strength—he’s after your identity. He wants you to see yourself as small, weak, unimportant, and unworthy. But David shows us how identity shifts the moment we remember who God is and who we are as His children.
Frankie highlights that the fight that formed you is often the battle right before your calling, breakthrough, or new season. When God brings you through it, you emerge with a renewed identity, a stronger faith, and a confidence that God will finish what He started.
Why This Message Matters
Every believer faces battles—but not every believer understands what God is producing through them. This message will encourage you to look back on your journey and recognize that the enemy didn’t win. The battles didn’t break you. They formed you. And the same God who rescued you from lions and bears will also defeat the Goliaths in front of you.
Watch this message and be reminded: you are stronger, wiser, and more prepared than you think—because God has been forming you through every fight.
