OVERCOMING THE WARFARE ATTACHED TO YOUR HARVEST
Standing Firm When the Battle Intensifies
Based on the message by Richie Seltzer
OVERVIEW
Have you ever noticed that following Jesus can become harder just when you’re trying to obey Him the most?
Whether it’s discouragement, anxiety, temptation, distractions, or thoughts that tell you you’re not good enough, spiritual warfare often shows up when God is leading you toward something important.
In Overcoming the Warfare Attached to Your Harvest, Richie Seltzer teaches that opposition doesn’t always mean you’ve stepped outside of God’s will. In fact, some of the greatest battles happen because you’re moving toward the very purpose God has for your life.
Jesus experienced this firsthand. After the Father declared, “This is My beloved Son,” Jesus was immediately led into the wilderness where Satan attacked His identity. Later, after Jesus told His disciples they were going to the other side of the sea, a violent storm tried to stop them before they reached a man who desperately needed freedom.
Richie reminds us that the enemy attacks identity, peace, purpose, and hope because he wants us to quit before we reach the people God has called us to impact. But Jesus shows us how to overcome. Sometimes we fight by standing on God’s Word. Sometimes we fight by resting in God’s presence instead of striving in our own strength.
Richie also shares honestly about seasons of intense spiritual warfare, distraction, fear, and discouragement before some of the greatest moments of ministry God had prepared for him. Through those experiences, he learned that God’s promises are stronger than temporary battles.
No matter how difficult the fight becomes, God is still calling His people forward.
“You don’t have to live like that anymore. It’s not who you are. You can come home.” — Richie Seltzer
HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE
Read → Respond → Reflect → Pray → Live It
Read each passage carefully before answering the questions.
Allow God’s Word—not your emotions, your circumstances, or social media—to shape how you think.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any lies you’ve believed about yourself, your future, or your relationship with God.
Take time to journal, pray, and talk through these questions with your parents, youth leaders, trusted friends, or Roads Group.
The goal isn’t simply to learn about spiritual warfare. The goal is to trust what God has said, rest in His strength, and keep moving toward the purpose He has for your life.
SECTION 1 — KNOW WHAT GOD HAS SAID
FOCUS
The enemy often attacks our identity before he attacks anything else. Jesus overcame temptation by standing on what God had already spoken instead of trying to prove Himself.

FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT
The closer you move toward God’s purpose, the more resistance you may face. Don’t let that discourage you. It doesn’t always mean you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes it means you’re moving toward the very harvest God has prepared for you.
When your identity is challenged, remember what God has said.
When life feels overwhelming, learn to rest instead of striving.
When fear or discouragement tells you to quit, keep your eyes on the purpose God has placed before you.
And if you’ve wandered from the Lord or started returning to old patterns, remember that your failures are not your identity.
Jesus still calls you by name. His grace is greater than your past. You can come home.
