🌟 OVERVIEW

This week we learned something very important:

Jesus is God’s Son — but when He came to earth, He chose to live like a person who trusted the Holy Spirit.

Jesus didn’t show off.
He didn’t try to do everything by Himself.
He listened to God and let God’s power work through Him.

The Bible says we have a “treasure in earthen vessels.”
That means God’s power is inside us — even though we are just regular people.

It’s not about being the strongest or smartest.
It’s about trusting that God is working inside you.

The big question is:  Are we living like God’s treasure is really inside us?

🌱 SECTION 1 —
JESUS CHOSE TO COME LOW

(Adult Guide: Section 1 — Who Jesus Was vs. How He Functioned)

READ  Philippians 2: 5–8 and Luke 4: 14

THINK ABOUT IT

  1. Was Jesus really God?
  2. Did Jesus choose to become a man?
  3. Who helped Jesus do powerful things when He was on earth?

💡 Big Idea: Jesus trusted the Holy Spirit.

🌱 SECTION 2 —
WE ARE BEING TRAINED

(Adult Guide: Section 2 — Trained, Not Entertained)

READ  Luke 4: 31–32 and Ephesians 4: 11–12

THINK ABOUT IT

  1. Did Jesus teach people just to listen, or to live it out?
  2. Why does God teach us His Word?
  3. What is one thing you can practice this week?

💡 Big Idea:  We learn about Jesus so we can live like Jesus.

🌱 SECTION 3 —
JESUS SHARES HIS AUTHORITY

(Adult Guide: Section 3 — Delegated Authority)

READ  Luke 9: 1–2

THINK ABOUT IT

  1. What did Jesus give His disciples?
  2. Did they have to earn that power?
  3. Why would Jesus send them to help others?

💡 Big Idea: Jesus gives us help from the inside.

🌱 SECTION 4 —
TREASURE INSIDE US

(Adult Guide: Section 4 — The Treasure in Earthen Vessels)

READ  2 Corinthians 4: 7

THINK ABOUT IT

  1. What is a treasure?
  2. What does this verse say is inside us?
  3. Is the power from us, or from God?

💡 Big Idea:  God’s power is inside us. It’s not about being strong — it’s about trusting Him.

🌱 SECTION 5 —
USING GOD’S POWER EVERY DAY

(Adult Guide: Section 5 — Authority in Daily Life)

READ  Ephesians 3: 20

THINK ABOUT IT

  1. Does God only help in big emergencies, or small things too?
  2. What is something hard you face (fear, anger, being kind, telling the truth)?
  3. How can you trust God in that moment?

💡 Big Idea:  God helps us make good choices every day.

🌟 PRACTICE FOR THE WEEK

This week we are going to practice living like God’s power is inside us.

STEP 1 — Think

“What is something hard for me right now?”

Maybe:  Be brave • Be kind • Forgive / say “sorry” • Tell the truth • Control anger • Choose courage

STEP 2 — Find a Verse

Ask a grown-up to help you find a Bible verse about that problem.

Example verses:

Fear → 2 Timothy 1: 7
Kindness → Ephesians 4: 32
Temptation → 1 Corinthians 10: 13
Worry → Philippians 4: 6

STEP 3 — Say It Out Loud

Use the Bible words to make your own declaration:

“God, Your Word says ________. So I will trust You and obey.”

Say it out loud.

Example: If you are feeling afraid: (2 Timothy 1: 7)

“God, Your Word says You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. So I will trust You and choose courage.”

STEP 4 — Do One Brave Thing

Do one thing this week that shows you trust God’s power inside you.

Maybe:  Apologize first • Pray for someone • Choose kindness • Tell the truth • Be brave

🌟 You are not alone. God’s power is not far away. The treasure is inside you.
