VISION – HEIRS OF GOD
Message from Pastor Chad Everett
OVERVIEW
Have you ever looked at a problem and thought, “This is too hard! I don’t know what to do!”
Sometimes our problems can seem so big that we forget how big God is!
In the Bible, God made an amazing promise to a man named Abram (later called Abraham). God promised to give him land and make his family so big that he couldn’t even count all his descendants!
But Abram had to trust God. He had to leave some things behind, look beyond what he could see, believe God’s promise, and take steps of faith.
Through Jesus, we are God’s sons and daughters. That means we belong to His family! God wants us to believe His Word, listen to His instructions, and trust Him even when things seem difficult.
And here’s something exciting: What God does through your life can make a difference in other people’s lives, too!
HOW TO USE THIS STUDY GUIDE
Read About It → Talk About It → Think About It
Open your Bible and read each passage together.
Look for the answers in the Bible before answering the Talk About It questions. These questions follow the same truths the adults are discussing, so Kidz can be part of the conversation too.
Then use the Think About It questions to talk about how God’s Word connects to your life at home, at school, and with your friends.
MEMORY VERSE
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
BIG WORDS
Heir = Someone who belongs to a family and receives what has been promised to that family. Through Jesus, we are part of God’s family!
Promise = Something someone says they will do. We can trust God to keep His promises.
Faith = Believing and trusting God and what He says, even when we cannot see everything yet.
Obey = To listen to what God says and do it.
Authority = The right or power to act. Jesus gives us authority to represent Him and follow His ways.
Possess = To take hold of something that has been given to you.
SECTION 1 — LEAVE BEHIND WHAT GOD TELLS YOU TO LEAVE BEHIND
BIG IDEA
God told Abram to leave his country and family, but Abram brought his nephew Lot with him. After they separated, God spoke to Abram about the land He had promised. Sometimes God asks us to leave behind things like anger, bad attitudes, or wanting our own way. Even when it’s hard, we can trust that God knows what’s best.

SECTION 2 — LIFT YOUR EYES AND SEE BEYOND YOUR PROBLEMS
BIG IDEA
God told Abram to lift his eyes and look in every direction at the land He had promised. Sometimes our problems seem so big that they’re all we can see. God wants us to look beyond our circumstances, remember His promises, and trust that He is greater than anything we face.

SECTION 3 — BELIEVE GOD’S PROMISE BEFORE YOU SEE IT
BIG IDEA
God asked Abram to see the land before he possessed it. Abram had to believe God’s promise before seeing it happen. Jesus also told ten men with leprosy to go show themselves to the priests, and they were healed as they went. Faith means trusting God’s Word and obeying Him, even before we see the answer.

SECTION 4 — GET UP AND WALK IN WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU
BIG IDEA
God didn’t just tell Abram to look at the land. He told him to get up and walk through it! God wants us to do more than know His Word. He wants us to live it. Because we belong to Jesus, we can represent Him wherever we go, even at school, at home, and with our friends.

SECTION 5 — STAND AGAINST LIES AND HOLD ON TO GOD’S TRUTH
BIG IDEA
God told the Israelites to drive out what didn’t belong in the land He had promised them. We also need to recognize thoughts that don’t agree with God’s Word, like “I’m not good enough” or “God doesn’t care about me.” Instead of believing those lies, we can fill our hearts and minds with God’s truth and stand strong in what He says.
READ ABOUT IT
Numbers 33:50–53; Philippians 4:6–7
TALK ABOUT IT
- What did God tell the Israelites to do when they entered the land?
- What did God tell them to remove from the land?
- What did God say they were supposed to do with the land?
- According to Philippians 4:6, what should we do instead of worrying?
- What does Philippians 4:7 say God’s peace will guard?
THINK ABOUT IT
- Have you ever thought something bad about yourself that made you feel afraid, sad, or not good enough?
- If a thought tells you that God doesn’t love you, should you believe it? Why not?
- What can you do when worry or fear keeps filling your thoughts?
- How can reading the Bible help you know what is true?
- What is one truth about God that you want to remember when something difficult happens?

REMEMBER THIS!
Lift your eyes! Believe God’s Word! Take a step of faith!
God told Abram to look beyond what he could see and believe what God had promised. He didn’t want Abram to stay where he was. He told him to get up and walk!
God wants you to trust Him, too. When problems seem big, remember that God is bigger. When you’re afraid, remember what His Word says. And when God shows you the right thing to do, be willing to do it!
Can you believe God for something bigger than just yourself? You may be young, but God can use your faith and obedience to make a difference in your family, your school, and the lives of people around you.
Don’t wait until you’re older to live for Jesus. You can start right now!
