OVERVIEW
Have you ever known the right thing to do but still wanted to do things your own way?
In From Under to Over, Pastor Chad teaches from Galatians 4 about growing up as sons and daughters of God.
The Bible describes a child who is already an heir, which means something belongs to him, but he is not yet ready to live in everything that belongs to him. God wants us to grow in our relationship with Jesus so we understand who we are and learn to live like His sons and daughters.
As we grow, God gives us people who can help us. They can teach us, correct us, give us advice, and help us make wise choices. Learning to listen and receive correction takes humility.
There are also things God does not want controlling us. The Bible talks about the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Those are big phrases that describe choosing what we want instead of what God wants, being controlled by what we see, and thinking we can do everything without God.
But something amazing happened.
“When the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son.”
Jesus came to redeem us, which means He paid the price to set us free. Because of Jesus, we can receive adoption as God’s sons and daughters. We do not have to earn our place in God’s family. We receive what Jesus has already done for us and believe what God says is true.
Pastor Chad said, “Where we’re under, we got to come over.”

BIG WORDS
Heir = Someone who has been given something that belongs to his or her family.
Guardian = Someone who watches over, cares for, and helps a child.
Steward = Someone trusted to take care of something or help manage it wisely.
Humility = Being willing to listen, learn, and receive help or correction instead of thinking you always know best.
Bondage = Being controlled by something you should not be controlled by.
Redeem = To pay the price to set someone free.
Adoption = Being received into a family as a son or daughter.
Abba = A close and loving word for “Father.”
Inheritance = What belongs to you because you are part of a family.

KEEP GROWING!
“Where we’re under, we got to come over.”
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one place where He wants to help you grow. Remember, when God shows you something that needs to change, He is not trying to make you feel bad. He wants to lead you into freedom.
Jesus has already paid the price. Believe what God says about you, receive your place as His son or daughter, and take your next step. Read God’s Word, pray, listen to the Holy Spirit, and grow alongside other people who love Jesus.
You are God’s child. Keep growing and learning to live in the freedom Jesus has given you.
