What does the Bible have to say about TONGUES & PROPHECY?

Chad Everett breaks it down verse by verse, in a teaching on 1 Corinthians 14.

He who SPEAKS IN A TONGUE, speaks 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗢𝗗.

He who PROPHESIES, speaks 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗘𝗡.

Tongues is Vertical. Prophecy is Horizontal.

Speaking in a tongue under the inspiration of Holy Spirit is in an unknown language that’s not understable to the hearer, but requires interpretation for the hearer to be understood.

Tongues does not require interpretation to be inspired by God.

Tongues requires interpretation to be understood.

Everyday we as believers needs to speak in tongues to be edified and built up.

Speaking in tongues is for all believers.

Biblical prophesying is speaking three things – edification, exhortation & comfort, under the inspiration of Holy Spirit in a known language understandable to the hearers.
