good morning. Erodes family. We’re so glad that you’ve joined us on this Memorial day weekend. And we just want to say thank you so much. And honor, those who have sacrificed everything and their families for our country, for our freedoms. And one of those freedoms is our religious Liberty. And we’re excited because next week, we’re going to be able to meet together once again, as a church. So we can’t wait for you guys to be back inside the building for us to be together, but we have one more week together online. And so we’re so glad that you’ve joined us today to worship and to hear the word and to gather together online. So I just pray today that your heart is to that. You receive the hope that you receive life and joy and peace and all that’s found in Jesus because Jesus died to give us abundant life. And I’m here to tell you today that there’s a breakthrough for you. And it’s on the other side of your praise. It’s on the other side of your worship. It’s on the other side of your faith, your declaration, and declaring who God is. And so today we pray that you experienced the fullness and the life that Jesus has for with the best Mt. Carmel Church. So let’s worship together.
Oh, geez. Moving in this. This is where I can set. This is where your love is calling me. I’m ready? All I’m ready. Mt. Carmel Church I see a change. Now, this is where your word keeps on dancing up. Keep on seeing it upkeep on a pig. We’re breaking through. I’ll keep on dancing. I’ll keep on seeing it. I’ll keep on breaking. Stick that out with us today. I’ll keep fun dancing. Keep on seeing it algae pop crazy.
hi, thank you for peace. You don’t have to fear this morning because God is in control. So we thank you, Lord, for what you’re doing in this place, in our hearts, that when Jesus came back, he said my peace, my peace I give to receive it. I don’t want to be, I don’t want to be your friend who I don’t want to be your friend. Yeah. I don’t want to feel strong. I don’t want to come on. I’m not going to be afraid. I’m not going to Oh, ha. Pay to clear it over your heart today. Now thank you. Jesus. You’ve given us peace. We don’t take that for granted. Take your spirit for him. That is with us at all times. You never leave. You never forsake us. So let’s not doubt him. Now. You’re just doing the greater work in our hearts. The maltiness mover supposed to be as warriors strong, the name of Jesus receive his peace, his Shalom.
You’re funny. Now thank you cheese. be there. Take me there. If you’re looking for free. It’s right here. My life is here and sacks with fives for you. I don’t want to be, I want to be true. Yeah. you take whatever you the side Lord. I want to be. Yeah, you take it. Whatever you Mt. Carmel Church know. Hello. no, so purify. Uh, well, uh, that’d be your prayer today. They take my life as a SAC, uh, clean my hands. One more time Mt. Carmel Church, as we were singing that second song, peace be still, I felt like God put on my heart that people are watching this morning that they don’t, they don’t understand what Jesus truly left with us. And that’s his piece, which is Shalom. I just want to read this scripture to you quickly. It’s in John 14 and I love the way the passion translation state says in verse 27, it says, I leave the gift of peace with you. My peace, not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace doesn’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts instead be courageous. And I felt like God wanted me to share that with all of us, encourage all of us, because that’s the piece that he with us and someone may be wondering, well, what does Shalom even mean? That sounds like a fancy churchy word or, or whatever the Shalom, what it means and check this out.
It means to destroy the authority attached to chaos. And so right now your life may feel pretty chaotic with the coronavirus. And it may be chaotic due to several reasons, maybe your marriage or your children being out of school, driving you crazy. I don’t know what that looks like for you, but it may be filled full of chaos, but I want to encourage you today. Jesus left all of us, his peace, which is Shalom. I want to encourage you with that today. Just grab a hold of that piece. Just grab a hold of it. And sometimes I know I can speak for myself. I’ve got to speak things out that don’t line up with how I feel. It feels chaotic on the inside of me, but I can’t walk by my feelings. Just like that. The second song, peace be still beautifully said we can’t walk by that with our Mt. Carmel Church.
We walked by what scripture tells us in God’s word is the ultimate truth. And I have to remind myself of that at times that we don’t walk by our feelings. We walk by faith. We don’t walk by what we see. We walk by faith. I just want to encourage you with that. So God, I just thank you that you leave your peace Shalom to every one of us to destroy the authority attached to chaos. And God, I pray over every one of us. That’s watching that. We will grab a hold of your Shalom in destroying. That authority destroys it in the name of Jesus. I speak Shalom over everyone, watching in the name of Jesus. We’re destroying that authority right now. You’ve got no place around us. We are sons and daughters of the one true King and his name’s Jesus and God, I thank you for that.
And here in just a moment, we’re gonna continue worshiping with communion. So I encourage her right now just to grab your elements if you haven’t already. And as you’re doing that, I just want to share something with you. I felt like God placed on my heart this morning. And that is Jesus was very intentional about having this moment with SIS disciples. If you think back that Jesus knew what was coming. He knew the beating that he was going to take on the way to the cross, all the blood poured out for all of us, but he wanted to spend this moment, this intimate moment with his disciples. And we get an opportunity to remember that and take part in that. So as you get your elements there and the bread represents His body, and I just want to pray over his body and thank Jesus for the sacrifice of it, the guy we just thank you so much for having Jesus come down and take our place for our sin. God, I thank you for his body. Jesus, I thank you for taking the stripes as it talks about in the book of Isaiah taking those stripes on your back for our healing that we’re made whole and Jesus. I just thank you for doing all of that based on the unconditional love that you have for us. We pray all this in your name. Amen. Let’s go ahead and eat the bread for your Mt. Carmel Church.
and he goes on to say later in scripture and he passes the cup and he says, this represents my blood. The juice represents his blood. That we’re going to partake here in just a moment. And I just want to remind us all how much power there is in the blood of Jesus, that blood, it takes all of our sins. It takes dirty rags and makes them widest snow. That blood has so much power. And I’m just so thankful for that. How many, a time that I’ve applied that blood by faith to my life. And it makes all of my sins. It makes them why to snow. So Jesus, we just thank you for this blood that was poured out for all of us, that it was poured out for all of us. All that will receive it by faith. We love you in Jesus’ name. Amen. Let’s go ahead and drink the juice together.
NOw, thank you, Jesus, for the power of the blood. And I just want to welcome you all erodes family. My name is Kevin, my wife, Amy and I are the campus pastors of the Mount Carmel campus. And if you would down in the comments, cause typically this part in the service, we would greet one another. If you would just comment down in there, maybe some hand clap emojis or high five or fist bump emojis. That would be awesome. We love to go back and check those out, or even maybe type in the comments where you’re watching from that would be incredible that we just want to continue worshiping the Lord with our giving, with our ties in our offerings of, so here in just a moment on the screen, you’re going to see just a few different ways that you can give. But I want to just give you a heads up because of your generosity. We’re able to feed just hundreds of families in our food pantry and also support ministries internationally, not just here at the North city or Mount Carmel campus, but internationally you’re making an impact. And so we just thank you for that. And so I just want to pray over our ties and offerings and God, I just thank you for the power of the time it got, I thank you that your word says that if we honor you with the first fruits that your abuse, the devour and God, I just pray blessings or all the children watching the service. God, I pray that your presence is strong around them. It got, I pray over all the churches in the area over there, pastors of their leaders, Scott, during this unique time that you’ll just stir their faith. They just remind them of the gifts and talents that you’ve placed on the inside of them. God, we love you and we praise you in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. And so here in just a moment on the screen, you’re going to see the news of the road and then pastor Chad will be on with the video as the best Mt. Carmel Church.

Hey, what’s up roads, the church in all of our erodes family. I just want to take a moment to make an important announcement to all of you regarding the Coronavirus and the situation going on here at the road’s church. We’ve been praying about it and seeking God on what he wants us to do. We’ve been doing the best we can to continue to reach out to people through our erodes family, watching online. We’re so grateful for every one of you. Who’s continued to not only watch online but support what God has been doing here financially. But we, as we’ve been continuing to seek God about it and study, and we looked at, you know, when the virus first started, we Paula’s like anyone else. And we wanted to see what was going on. What’s happening, the virus, what is, how contagious was it?
How deadly was it? What was going to happen will after these months have gone by and we begin to watch where things are going with what the outbreak has become. We feel like we’ve come to a place where we’re ready to decide to come back together and have services again. So we’re going to have a service on Sunday, May 31st. This is Pentecost Sunday. So we’re going to be getting together. Both our North city and our Mount Carmel locations. It will be our first-morning service in Mount Carmel. We’re going to have two services in North city, nine o’clock and 10 45. We’ll just have one service at 10 45 in Mount Carmel, neither location we’ll have children’s services. We will be taking extra precautions. We’ll be cleaning between services, sanitizing things. We will be providing hand sanitizer for people who need it. We will be, uh, separating, distancing, uh, having social distancing.
As far as our chairs, families can sit together. We will have parking, uh, distinguishing on different services where you’ll park in the first service of North city. And the second service you’ll enter in one door and go out a certain place. We’re going to dismiss people at different times. We’re going to be taking extra precautions to make sure and provide a safe environment for those who feel safe. Cause we believe it’s time to have a church for a couple of reasons. Number one, we believe in defending our religious liberties and we believe it’s our constitutional right to peaceably assemble. So we want to do that. Number two, we believe it’s safe to do so. We’ve been doing our homework. We’ve been doing our due diligence. I spent some time on the phone just the other day with an immunologist of over 20 years, asking him questions, finding out some information about the disease, looking at how coronavirus has been spread in our region of seven counties, 90,000 people in the population, only 25 cases of coronavirus have been reported of those 11 have already recovered, leaving only 14 cases still in existence.
So the percentage of people who currently have the coronavirus in our seven counties is 0.00016. And we believe those numbers are numbers that are safe for us to gather using our wisdom, to provide a safe environment, cleaning as much as we possibly can. So we want to encourage you that this is what’s happening. Give you an update on where we are that we want to get back together. Again. People’s lives are at stake. Yes, they are. But I believe people’s lives are at stake by not gathering together as much as they are by gathering together. People need that connection. People need to know that God is there. They need to get around other people and be supported in their families and their marriages. And so we want to do that. We want to provide that environment. If you’re elderly and you feel that it’s a concern for you, we encourage you to keep watching online.
If you have any preexisting health concerns, we encourage you to continue to watch online. If you’re concerned about your children, please feel free to stay at home. We’re not requiring anyone to come. We’re just inviting anyone who had liked to do so and feel safe to do so you can wear your mask, whatever is that we’re leaving that totally up to you. But we’re excited about gathering together on that. Sunday, May 31st at both North city and Mount Carmel. You get to know children’s ministry, we’ll be providing more updates, but I just want to give you a heads up. Be praying with us. We’re believing that God is on the move, that he’s doing great things in our community. And we want to be a part of seeing God change this world for the kingdom and the name of Jesus. We love you. We’re praying for you. And we can’t wait to see you next time.
Hey, good morning. He Rhodes family. We just want to thank you so much for joining us. My name is Chris Pollard and I’m the youth pastor here at the road’s church. And I just want to give a big shout out just again, to thank you for welcoming us right into your home on this Memorial day weekend. And I just want to celebrate some individuals, a couple of people right now want to celebrate and thank all of you that have served in the armed forces and on the front lines and your service. Thank you so much for your sacrifices and your service to our country, to our communities, man, we are so blessed and honored to have you. And I just want to take a moment as well, to thank a big shout out to our lead pastors, pastor Chad and pastor Don Everett, just thankful so much for their leadership and just what they are pouring into and investing into this church and there, and just what they’re doing as leaders and helping lead and guide and connecting people to Jesus.
That is our heart. And that is our desire that we want to connect people to Jesus from all roads of life, no matter what road they’re on, we just want to reconnect. People, get people back on that journey. And man, I am so pumped and so excited. And I know that you are too, that we get to come back in person next Sunday. It’s going to be powerful. It’s going to be great. And we are so excited about that. And so again, here’s what we’re going to do tonight. We’re going to get right or today we’re going to get right into the message. And I’m just so excited about what God wants to share with you today. And if you could have your Bibles or your device turn with me to the book of Matthew chapter four, woo, come on. Woo. We just believe here at the Rose Church, we believe that the Bible is God’s living word. We believe it is active. We believe it is powerful. We believe that every time we open it up, we believe that God speaks. He speaks the truth. He speaks to power, and we believe that he’s going to speak to you today. He’s going to set some people free. I believe that God’s going to set people free today. I believe that at the sound of my voice, that he’s going to set people free from whatever road that you’re on. He wants to reconnect you. So Matthew chapter four, let’s get right in and we’re going talk about Jesus
today. I love to talk about Jesus. I don’t know about you, but I love to talk about Jesus. That’s why we’re here because we want Jesus to, we want to emulate the heart of the father and the heart of the father is through Jesus. So Matthew chapter four, the Bible says that then Jesus was led up by the spirit, into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Look at that. Maybe you’re on a road. I don’t know where you’re at in your life. But look at what the first verse says. The first part of that says that Jesus was led up by the spirit. In other words, Jesus wasn’t alone. Whenever he went into the wilderness when he went into coronavirus when he went into uncertain circumstances that Jesus wasn’t alone, that the spirit of God was with Jesus. Whenever he was tempted by the devil and it goes on there and it says, and when he had fasted 40 days and 40 nights afterward, he was hungry.
I think that’s a legitimate excuse that after you fasted 40 days and you fasted 40 nights, I will put a stamp on that and say, that is acceptable. I don’t know about you, but I think that is acceptable. That if you’ve fasted 40 days and 40 nights, that you will probably be hungry whenever you come out of that, the Bible goes on here. And it says that. Now when the tempter came, when the tempter came to him, he said, if you are the son of God, command that these stones become bread. Look what the temperature did. The tempter came to Jesus. Jesus has led in this into the wilderness, by the spirit. And the Bible says that he fasted 40 days, 40 nights. And then the end of the tempter comes. And what’s the first thing that he does. He’s trying to distract him with his motivation and his desire and his appetite.
So he comes in and he says that Jesus says this. He says, but he answered and said, it is written. Go ahead and put that right there in the comments and declare that over your home, over your marriage, over your finances, over everything that is going on in your life, your situation just put it is written it’s God’s truth. It is written. So the Bible goes on. It says, man, shall not live by bread alone. This is in red. So when it’s in the red, Jesus is talking and it says by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, man does not live by bread alone. But every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God, then the devil took him. Then the devil took him up into the Holy City and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, if you are the son of God, throw yourself down, it is written. He shall give his angels charge over you in their hands. They shall bear you up. Lest you dash your foot against a stone. Let us pray, father. We just thank you tonight. We thank you for your word and God is praying right now.
Holy Spirit, that you would just come. And I just pray that you just saturate every home, every device, every screen right now, this, uh, pray that your word would just infiltrate right through there. I just pray God that you just give me your words. I pray that Lord, that people will experience you and they would not experience me, father. Thank you. And it’s in your name? We pray.
Well, I don’t know about you, but have you ever felt like that you’ve been trapped in your life or maybe you felt like that you’ve been in a situation in your life where you have been confined to something in your life? Maybe you felt like you’ve been trapped or maybe you felt like you’ve been a little confined in your life. Maybe you just felt like you were isolated. I know right now in this pandemic, it’s easy sometimes to feel like that, that we’re so isolated Mt. Carmel Church. I mean, we can’t have, we’re not sure what we’re supposed to be doing. We’re not supposed to be going out of our homes. We’re not supposed to be socialized and have relationships. We can’t have all these functions and things that we want to have. So maybe we feel a little isolated. Well, I want to tell you a little story about my life and I hope that maybe you’ve never had this experience before, but if you’ve ever gone to the ocean, I bought, I thought this was an incredible story because I feel like that in this season, I would love to be at the ocean right now.
Just take checking it, take out the beach, just taking it all in and just enjoying the rays of the sun. But I remember me and my family, we went to the beach one time. And as we were there, I remember that not very many people were out in the water, but I remember this moment where one of our rafts had gone out into the water and I believe that it was a time whenever they had the flags out to where they were saying, Hey, it’s kind of a warning. It’s not proper for you to go out in the water. It’s not ideal for you to be out there, but I just could not let my $5 raft float away into the ocean somewhere and never be able to find it. I remember going to that. And I remember that. I, you know, I just couldn’t go, don’t go alone Mt. Carmel Church.
Your know-how, you’re not sure what’s going to happen. You’re not sure if you’re gonna make it out alive. So you bring someone else with you that way, if you don’t make it a lie, that you’re not the only one. So anyway, I grabbed one of my kids and I’m like, Hey, Hey, come with me. We’re going to go out there and get this wrestle. We go out into the ocean and I’ll never forget this. I remember going out and I just kept thinking, you know, I can go a little bit deeper and go a little bit deeper out in the ocean. I can go back a little bit deeper, but I was doing great when I was going out. But man, when I started coming in, I just, started to feel the pressure. I started to feel that that moment where the intensity of that water was, was pushing against me Mt. Carmel Church.
And I, I remember that, that feeling of loss. I remember that feeling of isolation. I felt like I had, basically what I felt like was I felt like that I was trapped between two truths. I was trapped between two truths. I was trapped between the truth, that either a, that I was going to probably die out there or I was probably trapped between the other truth was that if I didn’t do something that I knew to do that I wasn’t going to make it out. So I don’t know about you. Have you ever felt like that you’ve been trapped between two truths in your life? Maybe you’ve felt like that you’ve been wedged in between something in your life you’ve been, you’ve been trapped. You felt like that there was no way out. And I want to encourage you tonight. As I begin to, to unpackage the word of God, I left God to speak to me through this passage about this is where I’ve been living from for this past week has not been the greatest week for me.
It’s been a little challenging. It’s been a little disappointing, a little discouraging, but I know that through the tests and the trial and the temptation and all these things, I know that there’s a way out that God always has a way out for me. So as I was thinking about this, I was thinking about how sometimes that we don’t always look at, we look at a passage of scripture and we only see what is happening at the moment. But as I look at this Mt. Carmel Church, I see that before Jesus went into the wilderness, when he was led by the spirit, the Bible says that he was baptized. And when he was baptized, the spirit of God came upon him in the form of a dove. It came and the spirit of God was present. The father, the Son and the Holy Spirit was right there.
The power of God came upon him when John baptized him and the very next day, he goes into the wilderness. And when he came out of the wilderness, Jesus hadn’t started his ministry just yet. And it’s interesting to me to think that there, that the enemy knew that there was an assignment on Jesus’s life. He knew that there was an assignment. He knew that there was a calling. He knew that there was something on Jesus’s life that he knew that he had to stop. And I believe today, I believe we’re in that hour. We are in that moment right now when the spirit of God, when God himself is wanting to be revealed on the earth. Here’s what I know that when the truth is being imparted into an environment and a culture when the truth of God is imparted into an environment and the culture, I believe that that culture has to surround itself with what that truth is for your experience with us at Mt. Carmel Church.
Remember I said that sometimes you find yourself between two truths and Jesus was at that moment. He was in the truth of his ministry. He was also in the truth of the baptism of his water baptism. When the spirit of God is still on him. And he was also between two truths. And here’s what he was. The one truth was this situation. The other that Jesus was webbed between was the truth of God’s word. Look at what he said. It is written. Man does not live by bread alone. I don’t know what you’re living on right now. Maybe you’re living on comments. Maybe you’re living, in the competition. Maybe you’re living on performance. Maybe you’re living on acceptance. Maybe you’re living on all kinds of things that bring validation to you. Maybe you’re living on the opinions of others, but I come here today to declare to you that you need to live on the truth of God, that if we will live on the truth of God, we won’t worry about the opinion of people.
We won’t worry about what’s happening all around us. We won’t worry about the situation that has happened with the Krone virus. But what we will see is the truth of God and the truth of Jesus will be imparted into the earth. And we will see His hand at work. I believe God wants to move powerfully. I believe that he wants to bring revivals to our County. He wants to bring revivals to our cities. I believe that God wants to bring revival right into your marriage, right into your home. He wants to impart the truth. Your marriage needs truth. Your marriage, your finances need the truth of God. It needs the truth of God. It needs that. It is, it is written.
And I can only think that as Jesus was, was being challenged with the status quo, where he was being challenged with this, with this temptation, the enemy knew the call on his life. Can I tell you, maybe you’re a young person watching this embraced temptation? Maybe you’re a parent that is watching this. Maybe you’re not sure about what’s going on in your life, but embrace that temptation because the temptation, the beauty of temptation is what’s. On the other side, Nick, God has a calling for you. There’s an assignment on your life. And the reason that you’re being tempted so hard is because of the assignment on your life. Here’s what I know about temptation. And this is my definition of temptation. It’s not taken out of dictionaries or anything like this is a JCP Webster, whatever you want to call it, it’s not Webster’s, I’m sorry Mt. Carmel Church.
It’s a temptation is anything that promises instant gratification at the cost of our relationship or your relationship with God. It’s anything that promises you instant satisfaction at the cost of your relationship with God. Here’s what I know about temptation. And I spoke this to our youth here a few months ago. And I was, I was thinking about what to say, God dropped this right back on my heart because I was living from this place. And I’m still living from this place of temptation every single day, just tempted of many things, tempting of quitting, tempting of giving up tempted of not going forward anymore. Tempted of all sorts of types of things. The temptation is real, but God always gives you an escape. The temptation is real in your life, but God always has an escape.
God always has an escape. He has an escape plan for you. He has an escape plan for you. And that’s what we’re going to talk about tonight. We’re going to break down that. We’re going to break down that a little bit. I’m gonna give you some truths here in a little bit, but the Bible says in First Corinthians chapter 10, verse 13, it says, so if you think, if you think who thinks if you think not your neighbor, not what’s happening on social media, not what’s happening on your feed, but if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall in. It says that temptation the temptation here. It says that no temptation has overtaken you, except what is common to mankind. What’s that say? That says that everyone is being tempted in all sorts of ways that all of us face some sort of temptation in our life, whether it’s a temptation to quit, whether it’s a temptation not being good enough, whether it’s a temptation not being a good parent or being a good husband or a good mother or a good whatever that case might be, we’re all tempted Mt. Carmel Church.
And I believe that what it doesn’t necessarily mean that you had to be tempted just for sin because I believe that this was a distractive technique that the enemy knew that tempt him knew tempter knew. He knew the call of God on Jesus’ life. And he was stopped trying to stop the movement that was getting ready to happen. Can I tell you today that there’s a movement that is waiting to happen in your life today and don’t let the enemy stop the movement or the calling that God has placed on your life? He said, no. Temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind? And it says, God is faithful right in the middle of our temptation. It says God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
This is probably one of the most misquoted Bible scriptures ever. I don’t know, but a lot of people will say, and you’ll hear people say, and I’ve heard this. And I kind of grew up on this kind of theology that God won’t put on you more than you can bear. When you read the scripture first Corinthians chapter 10, it says that God will allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. God knows your maturity level. He knows the spirit inside of you. He knows what you can handle, but he’s faithful in the midst of that. And he says here so that you can endure it Mt. Carmel Church. So here’s what I think that he’s saying to us, he’s saying amid your temptation testing, you’re trying, you’re examining God’s faithfulness gives you a way through so that you can endure it. God’s faithfulness is right in the middle of your temptation.
I want you to know, put it right in the comments right there, where you’re watching from this morning, that God faithful. He is faithful. Declare that the creation that God is faithful. He will not stop the move of God. He will not. The enemy will not stop. What God wants to do. God is faithful in your life. It says every time there’s a temptation, there’s always a way out. And here’s what I want to tell you tonight, that what you’re chasing, what you’re chasing life must become greater than what you’re facing, what you’re facing in your life. I know pastor Chad just did a series on, we will overcome is a powerful series. So thankful for it, but I’m still, I’m still hearing this. There’s still something stirring that God is wanting to advance the kingdom of God on the earth. And he wants to use you.
And he wants to use me to be able to channel what he wants to do at this time. What you’re chasing in life must become greater than what you’re facing. When you’re chasing God, it’s greater in your life. No one gets up in the morning and I don’t know about you, but did you get up this morning? And you say, Hey, I’m just going to give him the temptation today. I am so thankful that I’m going to be tempted today. I am so thankful. Nobody gets up and says that nobody says I am so thankful. Thank you, Jesus. That I get to be tempted today with a new Mt. Carmel Church. I get to have tip tasted in my life. Nobody. Everybody would probably get up in the morning and say, I hope I don’t have to go through temptation today. I hope that I’m not tempted in any way in my life.
That’s probably what most people would say. Well, what you’re facing today in your life, what you’re chasing must become greater because here’s what I know in life. That temptation is real, but God always has an escape. He always has an escape in your life. So here are four truths that I want to teach you about temptation. And then we’re building onto something. We’re building up to something here in just a bit. I’m going to give you those four truces. So get your notepad out, get your pen, write these four truths down and you can go back and you can look at this, and hopefully, it’ll speak to your heart. Just like it spoke to mine. The first one is the first truth is this being tempted is not a sin. Being tempted is not a sin. I hope that doesn’t mess with theology, but being tempted is not a sin.
You don’t have to be tempted under sin just to be tempted. All right, the temptation is not. Sin. The temptation is not to sin with your Mt. Carmel Church. Matter of fact, that says this in Hebrews four 15, it says for, we do have not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, with our, what, with our weaknesses, with your weaknesses, you don’t have a high priest. Jesus is our high priest. You don’t have a high priest who cannot sympathize with the weakness that you’re going through right now. But in all points, he was tempted just like you yet. He was without sin yet. He was without sin. He was tempted just like you. But he was without sin. He was tempted in his motivation. He was tempted in his direction. See, I believe that he had direction. He was going. I believe that he was advancing the kingdom of God. I believe that there was something in his life that he was driving the kingdom. He was getting ready for people’s lives were going to be transformed. The power of the Holy Spirit was going to be released on the church signs and wonders. Americans were coming to the earth. The kingdom was invading the earth,
and yet Jesus was tempted, but he did not sin his motivation.
He did not give up. He did not quit. He did not throw in the towel. He did not say I’m done. He did not say that I can’t do this anymore. He kept going
yet. He was tempted, but he was without sin. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t give us a license to sin. That just means that Jesus has sympathized with your weakness. Don’t you know, sometimes that you just want someone to sympathize with your weaknesses. I don’t know about you, but maybe when you’re going through a weakness in your life, don’t you want someone to kind of sympathize. Can I tell you tonight that Jesus today that Jesus sympathizes with your weakness, he was tempted, but without sin, it’s okay to have weaknesses in your life because Jesus sympathizes with your weakness? He sympathizes with that.
Number two, it says you are never above being tempted. Never think that you’re above being tempted. You got to check yourself, you’ve got to check yourself. You’ve got to check the reality of who you are. First is, is being Tiffany is not a C and second. You are never above being tempted. You’re never above that. And here’s the Bible for that. The Bible teaches us here. It says in First Corinthians chapter 10, verse 12, it says, so if you think you are standing firm, be careful. Everybody says it. Look at your neighbor, whoever you’re watching with, tell him, be careful that you don’t fall. Don’t think that you can do it. I can do this on my own. You are sitting like, wow, I know I can do this. I got this. I don’t need anything. I’ve been just like I said, my week has been a little discouraging, a little distracting. There’s been a lot of things going on, a little disappointing, but I didn’t. I was able to reach out. I was able, to not think that I can do it on my own. I was able to say, Hey, I need prayer. That’s why we need to get back to church because we need a community. We need the power of the community so we can reach one another. So we can sympathize with one another. So we can stay on a farm with one another at our Mt. Carmel Church.
So many times in our life. We think that everybody else has their problems. So why would I want to board somebody with my problems? Why would I want to bring my problems up on somebody else? And then we get into that place of self-pity. All it’s all about me and all these things. I believe. God wants you to understand tonight that stand firm be careful that you don’t fall. Don’t try to do it yourself. Jesus had the word, the truth. He was, he had that truth in his life. Satan will do the same, same thing. He will tack you on your weaknesses in your weakest moment, but he will also attack you on your strongest moment.
The enemy will attack you on your weakest moment and he will tack you on your strongest moment. So when does that tell me that the enemy will attack me? The enemy will always be attacking me because I’ll either be weak or I’ll either be strong. I’m always weak and strong in my life. So the enemy is always going to be attacking me. I should think that, Hey, I’m going to be led into temptation by the spirit of God, because there’s something in my life. There’s a call on my life. There’s an anointing on my life that the enemy wants me to take, want to be taken away. He wants to distract me. He wants to move me. He wants to get me out of the way.
Here’s what I know about him. Number three is that God will never tempt you so many times. I’ve heard people say that God tempted me. God will never tempt you. The temptation you’re going through right now is not from God. God may test you. God tested Abraham. Whenever he offered up his son, Isaac, God will never tempt you with evil. He will never do it. He might test you. Here’s. What I know about this is that God may test you to push you forward, but the enemy will always tempt you to pull you back for your Mt. Carmel Church.
God may test you, but his test is to push you forward. Whenever Isaac, when Abraham went and he sacrificed his son, God just want to test. So he could see the obedience and see what was inside of Abraham. If he was willing to go that extra mile, really willing to go that extra, it was to push him forward. It was to push him the call of God. And it was to put the assignment of God on his life to advance the kingdom through Abraham. So remember this in James chapter one, it says, remember, when you are being tempted, do not say God is tempting me. God is not tempting. You, God, has never tempted to do wrong. And he never temps anyone else. He will never do that. Martin Luther King said this, that there are three things. Three applications to Bible to read in the Bible. The first one is, are prayer, meditation, and temptation talking to God, hearing from God. And depending on God, temptation in your life is for you to depend on God. Every time
This creates an invitation for us to depend on God. Every temptation in your life creates an invitation for you. When you have temptation in your life, then you’re getting an invitation to be able to pin upon God. Are you still with me? Just type in the comments. Amen. Number four. There’s a way out. God gives us a way out. There are four truths to this. God gives us a way out. Here’s what he says in first Corinthians chapter, chapter 10, again, he says, and God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but you can be. You are, but you are tempted. He, when you’re tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it so that you can have that endurance in your life. We do not remember the old games called Pac-Man and asteroids at our Mt. Carmel Church. Whenever you used to be able to just kind of when the enemy and the opposition was coming at you, any Pac-Man fans out there, any asteroid fans out there, come on, Mary. You just lied. When the enemy was getting ready to come, the opposition on asteroids, man, you could just, you could just hit that thing and you would disappear. It was great, it was awesome. And then you just so up and man, you can do all kinds of great things. There was always a way out. God wants to give you a way out.
So here’s what I know tonight that God wants us to transition our truth. That’s the title of this message or our talk tonight. Today is transitional truth that God wants to transition your truth. Yours weds between two truths, the truth of your situation and the truth of revelation. That’s where you’re at. Because that’s where I’ve been is I web between two truths, between my situation, what’s going on around me, and the revelation that God has put with the inside of me. And I want the revelation. So here’s what I know about the Bible. The Bible reads in, in John chapter eight, verse 30, verse 30 through 32, it says any spoke. This is Jesus. And he spoke. These words, many believed him in him. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, if you abide in my word, look at the word abide with a better Mt. Carmel Church.
It means to remain to abide in my word, you are my disciples. You have the trait of a disciple. Do you want three traits of a disciple is this much rates here? I don’t know where I got this from it years ago, you had to be teachable. You had to be disciplined. You have to be a good learner. If you want to be a disciple of God, he said, abide in my word indeed. And you will know the truth and the truth will make you come on. You say the rest, you see it. You know it, the truth will make you free. You will know the truth. Here’s what I know about truth for all the top Mt. Carmel Church services, transitional truth. When you transitioned truce, when you, when you look at the truth and you say it is written like Jesus did that truth, right there will make you free. Here’s what God spoke to me. He said, Chris, the amount of freedom that you have in your life right now is a result of the amount of truth that you have in your life. Right now, the amount of freedom that you have in your life right now is a result of the amount of truth that you’ve allowed to come into your heart. You allow the truth to come in your heart. That’s the moment you’re going to be set free from things. That’s the moment that we get that breakthrough in our life.
We’re stuck between these two truths. So how do we do this? How do we do all this transitional truth? How do we make this happen in our life? How do we, how do I do this? I hear about this truth. And I need this truth in my life because the truth will make me free. Do you know what truth is? Truth is not just hearing. Truth is doing something it’s it’s doing. It’s pushing the ball down the field. It’s saying, that we are the best as our Mt. Carmel Church.
yes, it’s, it’s going. That’s the truth of God. The truth of God in your life. God wants to get the truth of God out. He wants to emulate the truth of God into the culture, into the society, into the place, around you, into your workplace, into your marriage, because the truth will set you free. It’ll set your finances for you to set your marriage free. It will set you free in the name of Jesus. When you know the truth, it’s not just knowing about it. It’s not just hearing about a good shirt, service, or a good sermon. It’s about the move of the truth of God in your heart. When you put the truth of God in your heart, and that the truth begins to set you free. You’re not set free by your agendas. You’re not set free by your ideas. You’re set free because the truth of God comes in your heart. And when you get free and the truth of God gets out because the truth of God is
just for you. The truth of God is for the people around you as well. It’s for the environment around you. You change environments by the truth of God, you walk into your workplace, you walk into your school, you walk into whatever meetings, whatever it is, and you have the truth of God in your heart. Then the truth of God will culture and things will begin to shift and begin to change because the truth of God has shown up. Here’s what I know where to get it right here. I know where to get the truth of God, because it says, and the Word became flesh. You know, what I think is cool about this is that Jesus, when he was tempted by the devil, that Jesus was the word and the devil came at him with the word that just fascinates me because Jesus was tempted with the word. He knew the word with our Mt. Carmel Church.
That’s what I say. That the enemy doesn’t always come to you and tip tastes him with a lie. The enemy will use the truth. That’s why you have to know the truth of God, of your heart. That’s why it didn’t move Jesus. When Jesus was tempted by the enemy with a great Mt. Carmel Church, it didn’t move him because he already knew what was written. When we know what is written on our hearts, and we know what is written inside of us, then we won’t let any other truth get into our heart
because what happens many times, it’s a truth about what we think of ourselves and what we think about others. There are two principles, two elements of truth. What you think about yourself, maybe you’re thinking right now. You’re just thinking, man, I’m just a, I’m worthless, I’m a worthless person. I’m, I’m just, I have no value, have no worth in this. This season. I just, everything has been wiped away from me. You need to get the truth of God back in your heart. You need to get the truth of God to activate. You need to activate the word. you need to get in your Bible. You need to get into a community. You need to get into a road’s group. You need to get in on the crude. You need to get serving you to get doing some things. Get moved in the right direction. Get to get that true stirred back up in your life for a more solid Mt. Carmel Church.
It says, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we behold his glory, the glory as of the only begotten son of the father, full of grace and truth. That’s Jesus who was full of grace and truth. Jesus, Jesus is full of grace and he is full of truth. How much grace and how much truth can we get that from Jesus? We can draw as much as we want because he’s full. And when he, he will never get empty. We might get empty of truth in our life. We might get empty of feeling like we don’t have any grace in our life, but when we tap into Jesus, we will see the grace of God and the truth of God that will be rejuvenating our lives spiritually. We need the truth of God in our lives. We need it in our homes. We needed in our marriage.
We needed our finances. We need it all around us. Oh, man. Four, the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, who comes through. Did it come through Facebook? Did it come through tick-tock? Did it come through Instagram? Did it come through what’s happening on the news right now? Did it come through the media? Did it come through a political party? No, it did not come. It came. The truth of God came through Jesus. That’s where we draw from. When we draw from him, then we will see the truth of God, begin to change things. We have to transition that truth. The transitional truth. That’s the where part and the why of this would be Jesus said the Mt. Carmel Church is here for you, I am the way the truth and the life lay. This was John chapter 14. He said on the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me. Here’s what I know about this. That truth will lead you in such a way that gives life. Here’s what I know about life that I know that there’s probably some dead things that are happening in your life right now. Maybe your marriage is dead. I just, I was researching some things just this week and this morning. Here’s what I can tell you.
Yeah. According to this attorney, he was, he put this post out or putting out a post, but it was, it was something on the internet. I don’t know how true it is. I just happened to see it. I was Googling some things about mental health and what happened in this, in this COVID-19 and, and all the impact and all these things. He said in three weeks, three weeks, he processed 1500 divorces in three weeks. Okay? Maybe he didn’t do 1500. Maybe it was only a thousand. Maybe it was only 500. That’s 500 homes. It’s been wrecked because the truth of God is not in it. That’s why we need the truth of God in our life. That’s why we need the truth of God to teach our children. We need to bind them around our neck. The Bible would teach us over 200 times. The word truth is in the Bible.
Mental health has, is on the rise right now. They’re saying that it was over. I can’t remember the Washington post. Something said like a thousand percent, that phone calls and all the two 20,000 text messages were coming in during these last three months, mental health patients. We need the truth. We need the truth because it will set people free. That’s what Zeke Yule did when ZQ he came to this place and it, and God, and the spirit of the Lord said to speak to these dry bones, these dry bones, these bones were all dead and they were, they were all just, just laying out there and he comes up and I guarantee you, he didn’t just preach some sermon. I guarantee he, he spoke the truth of God over those dead bones. And I believe tonight, today that if you speak the truth of God over your marriage, over your dead marriage, over your dead finances, over your dead children, over all these things that you will see, these things come to life. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, the truth holds your life and your way together. Come on, man. I wish we had a whole room full of people here today. If nod is going to preach to myself, I turn around, please. I’m just teasing. That’s just preaching myself. Happy. I’m sorry. And the Bible says in John 14, 17, it says I’m going to go on just a little bit for time’s sake. So we got the where it’s through Jesus and the, and the why, why do we need it in our life? Because there are dead things. There’s we need a way there’s, there’s, there are people out there as young people right now. You need to know the way you don’t know the way, but you need to know the way in the truth that God is going to give you the way. That’s why you need Jesus in your life. That’s the gospel advancing right now. The truth of the gospel is that you get a good Mt. Carmel Church service with us.
The next thing is, how, how do we do this? I think it’s interesting that that right now, I feel like that we’re in this season of this, this battle, that we’re in a spiritual battle, that, that we are going against principalities and powers every day in our life. But I think like never before, it’s not about political platforms or political parties. It’s a spiritual war that we’re in right now against principalities and powers and rulers. It’s much greater than that. Here’s what I know that the Bible says in Ephesians chapter six. I think it’s interesting that the very first, if you’ve ever been in church, maybe you never been in church before, but I think it’s interesting to know that any phases, chapter six, verse 17, where it talks about the full armor of God that you had put on the four armor of God and your life, to be able to stand, to be able to stand, to be able to stand, to stand. When in the days of evil, it
says the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive. Because now this Ephesians chapter six, if you get there, maybe these chapters, if he’s a chapter six, it says, therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand, stand, therefore having girded your law, your waist with the truth. Do you know what that means? It’s very simple a soldier when he would go out for battle that he would put around this belt and the belt. I did a little study on this and I have, I have before as well, but this belt would go around and he would tighten that thing up and battle. It wouldn’t be something that would just be laying loose because the enemy could get ahold of that could wreck some things, but he would tighten that thing up with our Mt. Carmel Church.
Even girl it up around his waist and the belt of truth would hold the sword of the spirit. He would hold the word of God. He would hold all these things into play with all the tools. I think it’s interesting that, that the very first armor that has mentioned any Feagins is a truth. The belt of truth. That’s not by accident. That truth needs to be in everything in our lives. Every area we need the truth, like never before we need the truth, we need to stand in the truth. That’s how we’re able to stand. When we don’t feel like that we can stand anymore. And I believe that some people are watching this morning that you believe that you can’t stand any longer. And God is saying, if you’ll just set up that, that belt around your waist, up the belt of truth and put on that armor of God, you’ll be able to stand. And when you’ve done everything to stand, you keep standing. Don’t quit. Keep standing, keep standing. John chapter eight, it says a slave is transient when it comes to your Mt. Carmel Church.
eight 34 says a Tran. A slave is a transit who can’t this in the message. Bible. Eugene Peterson wrote this as powerful who can’t come and go at will the son through though has established position the run of the house. So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through. Here’s what transitional truth does. It helps us to transition from the truth of our situation to the truth of revelation. When we have the revelation of truth, then the truth will set us free. And here’s what I know about the truth. That’s why I like the Rose Church. That’s why I love what’s happening at the road’s church. Because in our vision at the Rose Church, not only are we connecting people to Jesus, but it says in Isaiah 49 and nine, it says to put the land to resettle families in the room. And he said, tell the prisoners, come on out for your Mt. Carmel Church.
You’re free. Come on out. You’re free. Those that are huddled in fear, come on out. You’re free. When you get the truth of God in your life, then you can come on out. You’re free. You don’t have to be huddled in fear any longer. You’re free. You’re free from your sin. You’re free from your condemnation. You’re free from all shame and guilt. You’re free from all, all of these things. And it’s the process that begins in your life. So I just want to pray this morning and, and I just want to pray that God would just, that his heart would be emulated through every screen that the father, I don’t know what’s happening right now. Just feel like God is just moving and God is bringing truth at is. I have the sense that there’s a, there’s a, a heavy truth that is coming through every screen, right into your living room rider and moves where you’re watching it. There’s a heavy truth. That’s coming.
Truth is something you do. And I know what happens with sometimes the things that we’re supposed to be doing. Sometimes we don’t do them. So I’ve been saved for many, many years. I know I had that one time in my life. No, the truth of God needs to be in your life every single day. So God, we just thank you. I just invite you right now to come and do what only you can do. God. Only what you can do through every screen. Every person watching, maybe it’s not now, maybe it’s a later time at God. You’re moving. You’re doing some amazing things. You’re working through this season of their life. God that we bless them. We honor what you’re doing. Thank you. Set the captives free. Come on out. Come on out. You’re huddled in fear. You’re huddled in anxiety. You’re huddled in depression. You’re huddled, huddled. Any emotion, young person come on out, come on out. Young person, come on out high schooler, come on out junior high kid, come on out, come on out, mom, come on out, come on out for your new Mt. Carmel Church.
And maybe you’re watching this and you’ve, you’ve never experienced Jesus as your savior. You’ve never asked him to come into your heart. You’ve never made him the Lord of your life. So I want to tell you this morning that that’s the best commitment. That’s the best thing that you can do in your life to get your life reconnected to Jesus, to come out of the place of fear, to come in the place of freedom. So he can set you free from all the things that are going on, the junk in your life. So here’s an in a moment, I’m going to give you some words to pray. And I just, I don’t want you to concentrate on these words, but I just want you to concentrate. What’s happening in your heart. I want you to, to picture just Jesus coming right into your heart, just resettling some things, resettling, families, resettling some things in your heart. so I’m going to give you some words to say, if you just repeat after me, if you want to re-ask Jesus to come in, your heart is nuts. The roads church thing. This is, this is a big deal for you. This is a big thing that God’s going to set you on a new path today. After today, he set you on a new path. You’re going to walk in at a level of freedom that you never walked in before, or maybe a long time. Maybe you just need to return. Maybe you walked away from God and maybe he’s saying, come back. so repeat after me, father, I thank you for your son. Jesus. I thank you that he died. And he rose from the grave. God, I repent from all of my sins
and I ask you, Jesus, to come into my heart and be the Lord and Savior of my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to walk in your ways. Help me to take up on your character and your nature and to be your disciple, Jesus’ name. Jesus. Amen. If you made that step and that commitment this morning, I want you to, just to take out your phone, man. Come on. This is a big deal for you. We want to connect with you. Take out your phone and text the word roads, our new life. Text the words, new life to the number on your screen. (618) 243-0900. Being water, baptized, whatever that next step is for you. We want to help you. So I want to take a moment. And before we close, I have some words of knowledge that I wanted to just a couple of one word of knowledge that I had, that I felt like that Lord wanted me to S to release today. And that is, I feel like that there’s a gym and that you’ve had prostate cancer that you’ve had that your name is Jim, and you’ve had prostate cancer. I just believe God wants to touch. He wants to heal you. He wants to move in your life. He wants to just to burn that cancer right out of you, that you’ve, you’re, you’re struggling with your Mt. Carmel Church.
You had that prostate cancer. So if that’s you, I just want to, I just won’t pray for you. Just pray for the heart of God, just Lord that you just move right now in Jim’s life and pray in Jesus’ name, that you would heal him from that cancer, remove that cancer and just pray that, that his testimony of how you touched him and healed him on this day, this Memorial Day weekend, God, the Lord.
