A few would look at verse 15 we’re going to close with this passage. Now when one of those who sat at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Then he said to him, this is Jesus telling a parable. A certain man gave a great supper and invited how many, many. He invited. When I pause because I want you to say the next word cause I want you to stay engaged. Some of you are drifting off. Stay with me Mt. Carmel Church.

Certain men gave a great supper and invited. Thank you. Maybe I need to do hand gestures help you out a little bit. Somebody be a little slower and sent to serve as suppertime to say to those who were invited. Come for all things are now ready, but they all with one accord began to make. I even started for you. Makes excuse anybody ever make an excuse to God? I do. I have made excuses why you can’t come to church. Excuses why you can’t read your Bible Mt. Carmel Church.

Excuses why I don’t have time to read by somehow have time, have time to stay current on my Instagram feed with a thousand followers reading off. Make excuses. The first said to him, I bought a piece of ground and a mess to go and see it. I asked you to have me excused. Now that said, I bought five yoke of oxen. I’m going to test him. I ask you to have me excused still. Another said, I’m married to a wife, therefore I cannot come.

Let’s just move on. There’s the other side. There’s nothing to say here, so there’s nothing good to say here. So, so that’s came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of his house being angry, said to his servant, go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame, the blind and the servant said, master, it is done of you as you commanded. And still there is. Then the master said to the servant, go out into the highways and the hedges and compel them to come in that my house may be, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. What is his desire that his house may be filled?

Does that sound like many or few? Many. The heart of God is many. The heart of God is always many. Look at your neighbor and say your mini. His heart is for many. His heart is not for few. His heart is not just for a few Mt. Carmel Church. Select people, his Harper’s for many, many, many, many. My kids know that joke. Sorry, inside joke, but his heart is for many. That’s what he says. I want my house to be filled. Why? Because his heart is for many, but just because his desires for many. He said few are fighting. Why are a few finding it ready? Why are a few finding it or are you finding it? Are you ready? I’m not sure. Some of you want to go. Ready. Why are a few finding it?

It’s called building anticipation. Quite a few. Finding the way to Jesus. If God has a will and he desires many, how come fewer finding it? I believe it’s this because the ones who know the way are not giving directions.road search. I’m talking to you. It’s a rhetorical question. You don’t have to answer right now. When is the last time you yourself invited someone to church Mt. Carmel Church?

This whole parable we just read. He said go out and what do you say to do to them? Compelled you or compel means. I put it in your YouVersion notes. It didn’t have time to throw it in the paper notes, but it means to drive or urge with force, irresistibly to necessitate either by physical or moral force. This is Jesus’s words. Compel them to come in. Here’s how we compel or we’ve been taught to compel. Listen, I know you’re busy and I know you’ve got a lot of stuff going on at a, you know, I understand. I get, don’t get me wrong Mt. Carmel Church.

I mean it’s okay if you say no and I don’t want to pressure you. I want you to feel uncomfortable, you know? But I just, I just wonder if you’re not, if you like, I mean, I don’t know. Now that this son, he’s like you have to come every Sunday, but if you’d was, maybe you might, would you ever consider possibly come may. If you ever thought about going to church, does that sound compelling? It sounds like you’re almost apologizing because you don’t enjoy it yourself.

If I have something that’s giving me life, why would I not want to give it to somebody else? Why would I not want to say you need to come, not because of Chad, not because of the people, because of Jesus’s here. Jesus said, Chad, it’s not about you. Stop making it about you. It’s about me. Compel them to come. I desire many, many, many that my house will be filled, but you’re satisfied with it.
